About Us

At Cambria Sea Scouts we are dedicated to equipping young people with invaluable skills for life through the spirit of adventure and community. With bases in Dartford and Greenhithe, our group provides a supportive and fun environment for everyone aged from 4 to 18. Embracing the core Scout values of integrity, respect, care, belief, and cooperation, and being recognised by the Royal Navy as well as a certified RYA Training Centre, our activities inspire confidence, teamwork, and leadership. From sailing expeditions to arts and crafts to community service, our diverse programs give young people the skills they need to grow, learn and lead.

Greenhithe Regatta

Reviving Heritage and Community Spirit: The Cambria Sea Scouts Greenhithe Regatta and Raft Race

What's it all about?

The Greenhithe Regatta has a rich history dating back to 1866. Originally, it was a vibrant event that brought the community together to celebrate the River Thames and its importance to Greenhithe. Over time, the regatta faded, but more recently the Cambria Sea Scouts have revived it, aiming to reconnect the people of Greenhithe with their maritime heritage.

Raft Race

Lots to See

The annual event includes rowing races, a raft race, sailing demonstrations and various family-friendly activities

Food, Drink and Music

There is always a delicious BBQ, tea and coffee and of course cakes. There are also fun stalls offering a variety of games and activities

RIB Rides

A chance to take a trip out on our RIBs is always one of the main attractions. We have all the safety equipment and qualified instructors to make an unforgettable experience

Our main fundraiser

The regatta not only provides fun and excitement but also supports us in our mission to offer high-quality training and activities for local children

Testimonials

Magda

Parent

Cambria Sea Scouts has offered my son much more than we could have ever dreamed. Since he joined as a scout, he has grown in confidence and experience and made memories he will never forget. In addition to the incredible watersports and skills that come with them, he learned to problem-solve and work in a team with others outside the regular school friendships; he has camped in the snow, enjoyed many summer camps all over the UK, and paddle-boarded on the Norfolk Broads, to name a few.

The leaders and volunteers do an incredible job of providing kids with a safe space to have fun, learn, grow and make memories.

Beth

Past Member

From being part of Cambria, I have gained so many valuable life skills and qualifications; I have achieved my King Scout award, gold Dofe, and RYA sailing instructor, and I have also developed many interpersonal skills that aren't taught at school but are essential. Cambria has not only provided many opportunities both within the UK and internationally but has also provided me with a network of friends that have remained constant as I have continued to grow.
