All about Squirrels
Squirrels are coming to Cambria
If you are interested in joining us simply come along to our open event on 19th February 2025 at the Temple Hill Hall from 5-6pm. You can find out more and register for the free event.
Sea Squirrels! For boys and girls aged from 4 to 6 years old we are opening a brand new squirrel drey. If you are interested in joining or helping us run the drey please get in touch.
- When you join Squirrels, you’ll be introduced to loads of new activities, people and things.
- From your very first day at Squirrels to your last day at Explorers, being a Scout is all about trying new things. You can work towards as many badges as you like, at your own pace.
- Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.
Where and When
Squirrels will meet at the Temple Hill HQ on a Wednesday evening from 5 to 6pm.
What we will be doing
Squirrels take part in all sorts of activities and hopefully go on to earn their Acorn Award - the highest award they can earn before moving up to Beavers.
- Arts and Crafts
- Songs and Games.
- Opportunites to have a go on the water
Our Leaders
Rebekha will be our Squirrels Team Leader. We are also recruiting a team of volunteers - contact us or go directly to Squirrels using the email squirrels@CambriaSeaScouts.org.
Subs
Subs will cost £20 per month payable by direct debit. The link will be added here when we launch.
Uniform
Squirrels uniform consists of a red sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a white scarf or 'necker’ to represent Cambria. We also have a distinctive Navy Baseball Cap to showcase our Royal Navy recognition. Jumpers can either be bought from the scouts online shop - Scout Store - or from a local supplier. The neckerchief and hat are available form the section leader.
Badges are an important part of your time at Squirrels and here is a diagram from the Scout Website showing where you sew them all on. Squirrel Uniform Diagram
